We’re glad you’ve chosen us to be your partner in your pet’s healthcare. We know that visiting a new vet can come with many questions. So, we’ve outlined everything you need to know below to make your first visit simple, calm, and positive.
Taking a moment to prepare will help us get to know you and your pet even better.

The first step is to get you on the schedule. You can request your non-urgent appointment through our online booking form or by calling our front desk team directly.

You can save time in the waiting room by filling out our new patient form online before your visit.
If you can’t, please come in about 10 to 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to complete it.

It doesn’t matter how well trained your pet is, anything can happen if there are lots of new faces around. So, for everyone’s safety, ensure your pet is on a leash or in a secure carrier.
If your pet is anxious about vet visits, bring their favourite toy, blanket, or a few treats to help
them feel more secure.

If you have any previous medical records for your pet, bring them with you or ask your previous vet to email them to us at contact@oxfordanimalvet.com. This helps us get a complete picture of their health history.
We take extra time with our new patients as we need to get to know each other.
The appointment will start with a conversation about your pet’s history and any concerns you have, followed by a thorough nose-to-tail exam.
Based on your answers and the exam results, we’ll create a personalized health plan. Remember, this is your time to ask us anything. We’re here to be your partners in your pet’s healthcare.
