Your Expert Pet Travel Health Service

Wherever you’re going, we know how to manage the medical requirements and paperwork for a smooth crossing.

Why Planning Ahead is Critical

Depending on the country, international pet travel preparation can take several weeks to months from start to finish. It’s crucial to contact us as soon as you know your destination and travel dates. This gives us enough time to meet all the health requirements and documentation deadlines.

Domestic Travel (Within Canada)

Typically, the provincial authorities don’t need any special documents when crossing the borders. However, airlines, ferries, and cargo shipments may. Some might even insist on the certification not being older than 10 days.
But don’t worry; we’ll make sure your pet has all the necessary documentation for a hassle-free trip anywhere in the country.

International Travel (To the US and Beyond)

This is where it gets complex. Most countries have strict, specific rules, and they all vary by country.

For example, if you’re visiting the US, your pet must meet all the Center of Disease Control’s (CDC) entry rules.

- Older than 6 months
- Microchipped
- CDC import form
- Appear healthy
- Extra documents when travelling from a high-risk country

If you’re travelling to the EU, your pet must:
- Be microchipped
- Be vaccinated against rabies
- Wait 21 days after receiving the first rabies shot

These are just some of the pet travel regulations you must meet.
Our team is experienced in researching and meeting these detailed regulations to avoid any delays or problems at the border.

Official Documentation & Health Certificates

We’ll prepare your pet’s health certificate and coordinate Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) endorsement when required. This endorsement is mandatory for most international travel before departure.
If given enough time, we’ll make sure all forms are filled out correctly and endorsed within the timelines required by airlines and countries

Tips for a Comfortable Journey

We do more than just paperwork. We’ll also give you advice to make the trip less stressful for your pet, yourself, and the other passengers.
This will be things like tips on carrier acclimatization, managing travel anxiety, and feeding schedules. Never give your pet human medication or sedatives.
